Round 2 Championship Recap

The Championship round between PB and GV was held on March 9th and 10th.  Day 1 was played at Grandview.  After 9 holes of 2-man best ball and 9 holes of 2-man alternate shot, the match was deadlocked and PB and GV went into the final day in a 12-12 tie.  On day 2 play moved to Pebblebrook and started out with 9 hole 2-man scramble matches.  The GV team edged out PB by a point in this format: 6.5 – 5.5.  The total score now stood at GV 18.5 and PB 17.5.  The final 9 holes of the championship consisted of 24 singles matches.  It was a tight battle, but GV was eliminated when Mark Masterson sunk a putt on 18 to close out his match, making it impossible for GV to catch up.  The final score was PB 31.5, GV 28.5.
